Located on the campus of the Greensboro Coliseum, the Greensboro Aquatic Center (the GAC) is a crown jewel of the area. In fact, very few facilities of this caliber exist in the country, and there are many top level competitions that happen here.
General Manager, David Hoover, says, "We are the largest indoor aquatic center in the country. We host over 60 aquatic events a year, ranging from swimming, diving, water polo, and synchronized swimming. The USA Swimming and NCAA Championships are held here regularly. The public is also allowed to come swim and enjoy this great facility." He continues, “We even have teams from North Carolina State, Chapel Hill and Duke who train with us year round. We host the NCAA Championships regularly, the ACC Swimming and Diving Championships, Toyota US Open, and United States Masters Nationals and the YMCA National Championship."
