Triad New Home Guide - Summer 2015

Living the Vacation Lifestyle Every Day

There are many reasons for the Triad’s popularity as a place to live. The climate is moderate, it’s cities are just the right size, and it’s a great place to raise kids. And the list could go on. But there is another key reason that extends beyond the municipal boundaries and that is the Triad’s location. Centrally located within the state, the Triad offers excellent proximity to the mountains as well as the coast. A short drive to the west offers snow-skiing in the winter and beautiful vistas year-round while a short drive in the other direction offers up a number of Carolina beaches in just about any flavor you desire.

A quick weekend getaway feels like a real vacation. But the Triad offers more. The central North Carolina region is fortunate to have a number of natural and man-made lakes that offer not only great vacation potential but also the opportunity to “live the vacation lifestyle” on a daily basis. Belews Creek to the north of the Triad is close enough to make a ski run after work a feasible undertaking. To the south, a chain of lakes including High Rock Lake, Lake Tillery, and Badin Lake offer primary homes as well as weekend cottages. All of these lakes offer the opportunity to fish, boat, ski, tube and wake board, or just about any water activity you can dream up.

Slightly further afield are Lake Norman and Hyco Lake. Lake Norman is less than an hour from the west side of the Triad located just north of Charlotte. This popular lake is always bustling with activity and many who live on this lake commute to Charlotte for work. Just 45 minutes from the eastern points of the Triad lies Hyco Lake. This pristine lake feels “undiscovered” and natural beauty abounds, as there are large areas of undeveloped lakefront property.

Triad New Home Guide will be exploring these lakes and others in the region over the coming year.

The Reserve on Hyco Lake is a beautiful 31 lot subdivision, located on what is considered by some, one of the best areas of Hyco Lake. Paved roads, street lights, a gazebo for community use, and wonderful views from every lot make this neighborhood desirable. The owners have given great thought to every detail of this property, down to the entry sign and wildlife-adorned ironed gates. New homes are currently under construction and available for purchase. Or, choose your lot and bring your own builder.
